Primate Protection

IPPL’s History

Since 1973, under the leadership of our founder, Dr. Shirley McGreal, IPPL has spent decades fighting to protect and save primates around the world. These significant efforts included fighting smugglers, exposing the fate of primates in research labs, establishing a gibbon sanctuary and much more.

For decades IPPL has saved dozens of gibbons whose lives were often depressing, even horrifying, if they were subjects in a research lab. By joining our adoption program you will help them continue to receive the compassionate care they deserve.
