IPPL's Henry and his group of volunteers worked hard and had fun!

Thanks to the Volunteers at IPPL

This week is National Volunteer Week so we couldn’t miss the opportunity to brag about the volunteers at IPPL. We love our volunteers and the sanctuary greatly depends on all of them. IPPL has indoor as well as outdoor volunteers. Both groups are very important in aiding in the care of our gibbons and saving all primates.

Good Hard Work

This is not glamorous work. Most of the work is hard and labor intensive. So why do they continue to come back? Because IPPL volunteers are dedicated and they care about wildlife and animal rescue. Usually they are coming out here on their day off, or some even use their vacation time to come out.

Sunday funday at the sanctuary! Resident caregiver, Samantha (center) had a few members from her CrossFit gym, @palehorsecrossfit out volunteering today building enrichment devices for IPPL’s 34 gibbons! They built puzzle feeders of different sizes, materials, and difficulty levels! All the little apes had a blast trying to snag every last treat! Gibbon hoots to Cheryl, Clare, Kate and Lauren! . . . #ippl #apes #apelove #enrichment #puzzlefeeder #savethem #crossfit #conservation #sanctuary #crossfitgirls #rescue #girlswholift #stringwomen #gibbons #primates #volunteer #volunteermonth #nationalvolunteerweek #planetearth #animalkingdom #animalrescue #wildlife #savethem #community #endangered #nvw #volunteering #lovevolunteers #volunteerappreciation #animals

IPPL is equally grateful to all of the volunteers that come out and help during The Day of Caring each year. Last year IPPL staff and volunteer groups were able to make enrichment items for the gibbons, weed flower beds, lay a new sidewalk and cut down some of the over growth of bamboo we have. The gibbons are also glad to help dispose of the cut bamboo – by eating it! This years Day of Caring will be Friday, November 15, 2019. We cannot thank the dedicated people who volunteer with IPPL enough. Without them, we would not be able to devote our resources to saving primates around the world. If you would like to get more information about volunteering, please visit our IPPL’s website.
